I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires.

Asyiqin: Descriptive Writing 2

People and Places

Gems of multi-coloured rain gleamed as they flowed down the tinted glass of the church windows. The faded grey, fissured walls of the building blended in with the flourishing shrubs of ruby red, sapphire blue and amethyst purple flora surrounding it and the sparkling diamonds in the night sky. A puny carrot-topped munchkin was obliviously licking his chocolate frozen dessert under the shade of the extensively branched, lush green oak tree. He was staring curiously at the falling crystals while his ice cream covered his tiny, trembling fingers with sticky brown liquid. Clumsily, he tried to grab the rain droplets and let out a groundbreaking bawl when the transparent beads rinsed his hand clean.

The faint yellow, worn-out bandages failed in concealing the injuries on his left eye and his arms as the red blotches on it were slowly increasing in diameter. His used to be dark yellow uniform was now covered with splashes of crimson. He clenched his sword at its tiger-engraved grip with an air of confidence. His sharp, amber eyes stared his depleted opponents from head to toe, studying their expressions for a hint of courage. Conrad Weller charged at the enemies with his raven black horse as the blinding light from the sun reflected off his sword and into his opponents’ eyes.

Asyiqin - Santi: Descriptive Writing 3

Asyiqin's Version:

Gems of multi-coloured rain gleamed as they flowed down the tinted glass of the church windows. The faded grey, fissured walls of the building blended in with the flourishing shrubs of ruby red, sapphire blue and amethyst purple flora surrounding it and the sparkling diamonds in the night sky.

Santi’s Version:

The tinted glass of the untainted sanctuary allowed the gentle sky to cry shedding its tears of spectrum onto it. The wrinkled walls of the church skinned itself with the bright, blooming buds – shone by the night’s twinkling eyes.

The golden light gently touches Fender’s silver strings; the bronze tone did not forget to leave its mark on the vinyl records lining up the walls. Like wallpaper, the records did not stand the test of time. Broken bits, pieces and fragments, mounting the floor like black patches of tar. Music sheets covered every corner of the room, the complete ones anyway. Surprisingly, the incomplete ones are neatly stacked near the queen – size floral bed. That same yellow reflection softly brushes the black and white keys of Yamaha and there lay Dee Minor and cuddled up, white and purring.

“White pearls of ice slowly flake off the crimson red buds. Surprisingly the thorns are also stained with the warm blood drops.”

Dk Nur Raihan Pg Mohamad

“Sparkling shards of frozen flakes cracked off the scarlet rose buds. The poison – covered thorns of the rose’s stalk were tainted with the same shade as the sleeping flower.”

Siti Nurul Asyiqin Bt Abdul Khalid
